Alright, so I’ve been putting this off for months because I didn’t really want to face up to the fact that I really, really fucked up at running this blog, but I guess I owe it to you guys to do this (at least, to those of you who’ve still stuck around).
Skaian Library is dead. It was a combination of poor management, low morale, and a lack of submissions. I had high hopes for this blog, but it just…didn’t pan out. It took a long time to get a decent amount of followers, and only a few people (and I really appreciated those people) actually contributed by sending in asks and submissions. It was too much work to keep the blog going for what seemed like no real reason. Nobody seemed to care. The effort felt wasted. Aside from throwing fics out into the blogosphere — many of which I didn’t ever have time to read, except for a quick skim — I wasn’t accomplishing any of my original goals.
I am very thankful to see that a new blog, The Atheneum, has sprung up, and it seems to be much more popular and well-run than this one. I encourage you all to follow it, if you haven’t already. They’re doing the job much, much better than I ever did.
I’m sorry for disappointing everyone. Hopefully the new blog serves you well.
